LSS – Josh Walker

Hi everyone, I’m Josh Walker, a 3rd year PPE student and your LSS School Rep for 2025/26.

I ran for this role because students deserve BETTER: fairer assessments, more opportunities, and a school that gets the basics right. Over the summer, I’ve been meeting with staff from across the school, connecting with course reps and societies, working with the Careers team, and setting up a career events calendar and resources on Instagram. My goal is simple: to make sure your concerns are heard and acted on, whether that’s reducing deadline stacking, improving careers support, or strengthening tutor guidance.

This year, my priorities are:

  • BOOSTING EMPLOYABILITY — more networking events, career-focused tutoring, and accessible resources for every year group.

  • FIXING THE BASICS — clearer communication, smoother admin, and stronger tutor and dissertation support.

  • FAIRER ASSESSMENTS — lowering exam weightings where possible, offering flexible deadlines, and reducing unnecessary pressure.

You’ll find me at Freshers’ Fair, the Academic Communities Picnic, the Academic Rep Fair, and Skills Week’s “Meet the Rep” Pizza Party, plus plenty of other events throughout the year. These will be great opportunities to share your feedback directly.

Get involved: you can always reach out via Instagram @lssschool.rhsu or email lss.schoolrep@royalholloway.su. The more I hear from you, the stronger I can represent your interests!

I’m committed to making LSS a school that works for YOU. Together, we can fix the BASICS, create opportunities, and make sure your voice is at the heart of everything they do.
