About Us
Welcome to Royal Holloway’s Eastern European Society (EES)!
EES is an inclusive community open to all students, whether you’re from Eastern Europe, have a cultural connection to the region, or simply enjoy discovering new traditions, foods, languages, and histories. You do not need to be Eastern European to join — everyone is welcome.
Our aim is to create a friendly space where students can socialise, learn, and celebrate the rich diversity of Eastern Europe together. We want Eastern European students to feel represented and at home, while also giving the wider RHUL community the chance to explore what makes our region unique — from traditional dishes like Gulyás and Ferges to iconic sights such as Pałac Kultury and Castle Bran.
At EES, our focus is community, cultural exchange, and having fun in an environment where every member can feel included.
Events & Socials
We design our events so everyone can participate and enjoy themselves, regardless of background or prior knowledge of Eastern Europe. A few activites planned for the year:
- Baking sessions
- Group bowling nights
- Movie and Cinema nights
- SU events
- Packhorse social meet-ups
- Holidays abroad :D
- Karaoke nights
- Eurovision nights
- Quizzes and games nights
Our goal is to provide a mix of fun, educational, and social experiences that help students connect, relax, and build friendships. We also hope to collaborate with other societies and universities for even bigger events.
Membership
Purchasing our standard membership gives you access to most EES events throughout the year, including socials, film nights, cultural activities, and more.
Standard Membership: £5 Regular events are included.
Special events may be charged separately, but members get discounts.
