About the Left Forum:

The Royal Holloway Left Forum is an organisation for students united by a commitment to the advancement of the political left wing. Our organisation serves to bring together individuals to expand our already existing and robust leftist political presence in Royal Holloway.

We structure ourselves around regular meetings, talks and events that serve as a forum for political education and more. We are dedicated to fostering a disciplined environment where members can develop their academic understanding of leftism. 

We are actively involved in both campus politics and the broader struggles in Egham. We link student concerns with wider working-class movements as well as assisting academic staff when necessary. We provide material and political support to our fellow students and staff as well as maintaining a pleasant space for all members to participate in political life.

Unlike other political groups in this university, we do not beat around the bush. We are academic and truth-oriented.

Membership:

Our membership fee is non existent. We are among one of the only free-to-join societies on campus.

What we do:

Our schedule is not fixed, and often encompasses a range of events. These events depend on what our society are willing to partake in; including but not limited to:

• Academic Talks: Accessible lectures and workshops on leftist theory.

• Political Discussions: Structured debates and analyses of current events and specific political topics from a left perspective.

• Action: Focus on supporting unions, academic staff and students.

• Reading Groups: Meetings dedicated to the collective study of key socialist texts.

• Film Screenings: Watching films with political themes and messages. 

• Social Events: Self explanatory.
