Welcome to Photography Society! We aim to teach everyone from beginners to experienced photographers to take photos to be proud of whilst having fun.
We run weekly practical sessions allowing members to gain both a broad skill-set in photography plus an increased confidence in their existing abilities. Throughout the year we will be covering a range of different photographic styles/techniques. If you don’t have a camera, don’t worry, members can participate in most sessions using phones or by renting one of the society cameras.
Please come along to one of our taster sessions during freshers if you have any interest in the society. If you miss the taster sessions, then don't worry - you can drop in and try out any of our normal sessions before deciding to purchase membership.
This year we have a Standard Membership available for just £5. This membership allows access to all of our events and sessions, along with our private facebook group and Discord chat. Any trips and socials this year are also exclusively for our members.
Your membership fee goes towards new equipment and existing equipment upkeep, new books for theory sessions, potential guest speakers, and more.
By becoming a member you’ll also have the opportunity to meet loads of friends and like-minded people passionate about photography.
As opposed to a Premium Membership, this year we'll be selling a Premium bundle to go alongside the Standard Membership. This will include an enamel PhotoSoc pin, a roll of 35mm film, a photobook/notepad, and a phone stand.
We will be holding a range of exciting sessions and socials throughout the year including:
All events are subject to Government COVID-19 guidelines and may change accordingly as the situation progresses.
PhotoSoc is incredibly excited to welcome any new members over the coming year. To keep updated be sure to like our Facebook page and follow our Instagram (@rhulphotosoc).
Be sure to look out for our 2021/2022 Facebook group where specific details on sessions will be published and members can share photos, as well as our members group chat where you will be able to meet and befriend other members of the society, ask questions, and find out about member-organised trips.
If you have any questions regarding the society please don’t hesitate to contact either the Facebook page, Instagram or drop us an email at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
