Welcome to Photography Society! We aim to teach everyone from beginners to experienced photographers to take photos to be proud of whilst having fun.
We are an award-winning society, having claimed the Employability and Skills Cup as well as being highly commended in the Best Event category at last year’s Society Awards. We take great pride in the achievements earned and the friendly community the society is known for.
We run weekly practical and theory sessions allowing members to gain both a broad skill-set in photography plus an increased confidence in their existing abilities. Throughout the year we will be covering a range of different photographic styles/techniques. If you don’t have a camera, don’t worry, members can participate in most sessions using phones or by renting one of the society cameras.
Please come along to one of our taster sessions during freshers if you have any interest in the society.
We have three types of membership available: standard, premium, and an online membership.
Your membership fee goes towards new equipment and existing equipment upkeep, new books for theory sessions, potential guest speakers, and more.
By becoming a member you’ll also have the opportunity to meet loads of friends and like-minded people passionate about photography.
We will be holding a range of exciting sessions and socials throughout the year including:
All events are subject to Government COVID-19 guidelines and may change accordingly as the situation progresses.
PhotoSoc is incredibly excited to welcome any new members over the coming year. To keep updated be sure to like our Facebook page and follow our Instagram (@rhulphotosoc).
Be sure to look out for our 2020/2021 Facebook group where specific details on sessions will be published and members can share photos, as well as our members group chat where you will be able to meet and befriend other members of the society, ask questions, and find out about member-organised trips.
If you have any questions regarding the society please don’t hesitate to contact either the Facebook page, Instagram or drop us an email at: email@example.com.
We will also be hosting an online meet and greet Zoom call in late September for members to get to know each other and ask questions regarding the society or uni life.
