Welcome to Mature Students Awareness week!

This is a weeklong campaign led by mature student officer James Lock working to promote the mature student community and encourage alliance, cohesion and solidarity between younger and older students.

Throughout the week there will be a variety of recreational activities designed to generate community, cohesion and socialization between students of different age groups on campus as well as discussions around what it means to be a student and some of the common misconceptions around what the student experience can and should look like.

We’re encouraging participation from students of all ages to get involved in the daily activities and events, as age should of course be no barrier to fun!

In addition, expect to receive daily mature student experience stories to hear their unique perspective of what life for them has been like on campus.

Events

Charities Panel for Mature Students Awareness Week: 2nd March 5pm - 6pm; ARTS-LT2; This event hosted in collaboration with the Psychology Society brings together a panel featuring the CEO of Charity Unlock (Paula Harriot) and mature student (Beatrice Auty of Westminster University).; Mature Students Awareness Week

Body Balance: 3rd March 4pm - 6pm; Eliot 1 -03; A gentle yoga and mindfulness session for all levels and abilities. Unwind at the end of your day on campus with calming movement, stretching and relaxation in a supportive, welcoming space.; Mature Students Awareness Week

SU On Tour: Mature Students Awareness Week: 4th March 10am - noon; EWD Atrium; Come down to the library and chat with James, your Mature Students Community Officer!; Mature Students Awareness Week

Parent & Carer x Mature Students Mixer: 5th March 10am - noon; Tommy's Lounge; An opportunity for the Royal Holloway mature student community and parents/carers community to mingle as one.; Mature Students Awareness Week

Mature Students Movie Night: 5th March 5pm - 7pm; ARTS-LT3; Showing of a hit new psychological thriller that’s been trending over social media - a young woman who takes a job as a live-in nanny for an extremely wealthy family… and realizes the opportunity isn’t quite as perfect as it initially appeared.; Mature Students Awareness Week

PG x Mature Students Sip & Paint: 6th March 2pm - 4pm; Tommy's Lounge; A fun and relaxed opportunity to create your own waterpaints based canvas to take home, based on a chosen theme at the start. Alongside sips of provided alcohol!; Mature Students Awareness Week
