Josh is focused on the quality, consistency, and accessibility of teaching across departments, making sure students have a clear route to influence how their courses are taught and assessed.
Here’s what Josh is working on this year, and where each action is up to.
Assess the new Curriculum Framework as a means of quality checking existing courses
Communicate this process to students, highlighting how they can influence change through the Academic Rep system and module surveys
Meet with the Moodle Working Group and identify a date for the University’s decision on the continued use of the platform
Once decided, work with University stakeholders to ensure a consistent template is used across all departments
Develop a student-friendly guide on “How to make the most of your education”
Review University and SU NSS Working Group plans over the summer to direct our efforts
Implement SU NSS Working Group Actions
Plan and run a Policy Forum about the education experience at Royal Holloway with Faculty and Departmental reps, open to all students
Use information from the Policy Forum to run in-depth focus groups reflecting student experiences and academic interests
Collate research into Recommendations and present to faculties
