Candidate for VP Wellbeing & Diversity

Wellbeing and Diversity, a freedom, or a choice?

In an ideal world, we should be allowed to have an emphasis and importance on our wellbeing and diversity, and I found it a privilege to nominate myself as a candidate for VP Wellbeing and Diversity, along with all my wonderful other candidates. It is my aim and dear wish to be able to contribute to our student body by talking about problems that surprisingly are still taboo in many societies, alongside working tirelessly to help our students in taking an active focus in their mental, physical, social, and even academic wellbeing.

Diversity is more important now than ever, where people from all ethnic, religious, and other cultural backgrounds are inculcated into one student body, alongside having an importance for gender diversity, and accepting each other as the way they come.

Wellbeing is important during these fragile times when we have seen people struggle so much with mental health and have found it difficult to talk about their problems and express themselves. Let me remind you, weather I win or lose is another matter, but if you are reading this, you are not alone, and everything will be just alright.

I aim to setup a monthly forum for students to discuss each other’s problems, as well as allow each other to talk and help others feel welcome, loved, and appreciated. Being diverse is having representation, be it at your university, or in the student’s union, and I hope electing me as your wellbeing and diversity VP will the start the hunt for a more diverse and accepting Students Union.

Thank you.
