Academic Rep Of The Month Launch

As part of our revamped academic rep structure, we're delighted to launch our Rep of the Month award!

academic repsRep of the Month
Just over a month ago, you were deciding who your academic reps would be for the current academic year.

Since the elections, your course, department and faculty reps have been attending training, Staff Student Committee (SSC) meetings, emailing lecturers, getting deadlines moved and getting the lowdown on College initiatives – all to ensure that your academic interests are represented in the most effective way.

As part of their role, reps are eligible for a ton of sweet accolades – the first of which we need your help to get off the ground. We want you to tell us how much awesome stuff your rep(s) have been doing to help your course change for the better, by nominating them for Rep of the Month!

How’s The Winner Decided?

Your VP Education, Jack O’Neill, and our three faculty reps will go through each of the nominations to decide the Rep of the Month and two runner-up’s using the following criterion:

All nominations must clearly demonstrate that the actions of the nominee have made a positive impact on student life at Royal Holloway, University of London and, in doing so, has embodied the values of RHSU and RHUL.

Okay, So How Do I Write The Best Nomination?

First things first, it’s not about the amount of nominations – it’s all about quality. So, when you’re writing your submission, you’ll want to think about the following things:

  • What has your rep done to warrant a nomination?
  • How has this impacted you?
  • Do you feel that your rep listens to you?
  • How does your rep represent the academic interests of your class?

You’ll also get bonus points if you can squeeze in a reference to our values.

Cool – When Do I Have To Get It Done By?

The nomination form is available all the time, but the cut off for reps to be considered for the November Rep of the Month is Friday 30 November.
