>> About the project

In Term One, the Students’ Union launched the Cost-of-Living Survey during Financial Support Week to get your feedback on how the ongoing cost-of-living crisis is impacting your student experience at Royal Holloway. 846 students across all year groups shared their experiences with us. We shared the results with students in Term Two, and your feedback has informed a substantial list of recommendations to create impactful change to better support students with the ongoing cost-of-living crisis.

>> The Recommendations

Five key themes emerged as recurring issues for current Royal Holloway students, and the Students’ Union shaped our list of recommendations around the following:

  1. Communication about financial and cost-of-living support at Royal Holloway
  2. Communication about financial and cost-of-living support: Royal Holloway Students’ Union
  3. Financial support and cost-of-living initiatives at Royal Holloway
  4. Financial support and cost-of-living initiatives: Royal Holloway Students’ Union
  5. Education and the cost-of-living crisis

>> Next steps

We have shared the list of recommendations with University and Students’ Union stakeholders. The Students’ Union has also created a working group to track and implement actions for these recommendations, and we will keep students updated on their progress on our website!
