Find My Rep

After seeing some of the awesome stuff your academic reps have been up to this term, you might find yourself wondering how to let your rep know of some juicy changes needing to be made.

Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! Here’s a step-by-step guide to getting your point over to your rep:

Find your rep

We’ve made this as simple as possible for you. All you need to do is head to the Find My Rep page in the Academic Rep Student Hub and type in your department. It will automatically give you a list of names.

Top tip: if you know your rep is specific to your course, you can just hit Ctrl+F and type in your course name.

Think of something to tell them

Although this depends on what you feel needs attention or changing, here are some examples that have been discussed with academic reps in the past:

  • Missing resources on Moodle – think lecture slides or problem set answers etc.
  • Chasing late feedback in accordance with changes made to the Feedback Policy earlier this year.

Let them know

You might know your rep personally, or they might’ve stood up at the front of a lecture to show you their face. If you know what they look like, go and say hi!

If you don’t recognise their name, we’ve also got you covered with this. Simply head to the Submit Your Feedback tab and fill out the form. This will then be passed on to your rep for them to take forward within the department.

And there you have it! Your quick guide to making sure your academic interests are represented correctly by your academic rep.

It’s worth noting that academic reps are trained to deal with academic situations that affect multiple people, not individual students. If you need some help, we offer a free confidential advice service to help you with your academic needs. Simply visit the helpdesk or email advice@su.rhul.ac.uk to make an appointment.
