Tell us about yourself

My name is Jayden Bookout and I am a final year Criminology and Psychology student. I am originally from the US and plan to stay in the UK after graduation to work because I enjoy it here so much! As for hobbies, you can always find me at a musical on the West End and I love keeping up with my favourite NHL teams back home.

What made you want to become a School Rep?

I have been a Course Rep since I started my International Foundation Year back in 2019 so becoming a School Rep seemed like the best way to spend my final year at Royal Holloway. I am also a big believer in leaving things better than you found them so I thought this would be a great opportunity to make changes that last long after graduation.

Which part of your manifesto are you most excited about?

I am most excited about my manifesto point regarding building well-rounded students. There are many societies and volunteering opportunities that are related to courses within the School of Law and Social Sciences. There really is something out there for everyone and I want students to thrive both academically and socially during their time at Royal Holloway.

What are you most looking forward to this coming academic year?

I am actually quite excited about my dissertation. The research and data collection processes sound very interesting. There are many topics in my field that I am interested in and I also look forward to reading the work that the other students in my cohort produce.
