Rep Impact Update: Term One

Your academic reps have been working hard this term to improve your experience at Royal Holloway, and it's time to shout about it!

Our academic reps have had an action-packed term on campus and it has been great to see all of the fantastic work that has been going on at course, department, and school level.

We ran academic rep development sessions in November, which were all about navigating a typical meeting. Our December session focussed on handling student feedback that’s shared with reps - it has been brilliant to see so many reps getting involved. Keep reading for some updates from your academic reps!

Law and Social Sciences School Rep, Jayden Bookout, was our Rep of the Month for November. She has been involved in the validation process panels as a student curriculum consultant for two new courses. She has provided a valuable student perspective when reviewing the purpose, learning outcome, and modules for a new course.

Some of our other academic reps have also been a part of validation panels for their schools this term. We’d also like to recognise Philosophy Senior Course Rep, Felix Poree, Business and Management Course Rep, Martin Kapusta, and Electronic Engineering Senior Course, Rep Jake Cornwell, for their work as student curriculum consultants this term.

Some of our school reps attended the Education Executive alongside VP Education, Shrey, and President, Maia. The officers updated the reps on upcoming projects and the reps provided valuable feedback and insight that the officers have taken on board.

Performing and Digital Arts (PDA) School Rep, Carmen Anderson, has been running an Instagram page to engage students. An online space for students in the school to receive updates on what’s going on and how to get involved. Give it a follow @pdaschool.rhul.

If you’ve got something to raise, make use of Find My Rep to let them know. It’s super important to  give your feedback to reps so they can tell staff about the stuff you’re enjoying, as well as implement change when it’s necessary to represent your academic interests and improve your overall experience.

If you’re already an academic rep, tell us what you’ve been up to through Your Impact and you could be featured in the next Impact update!
