STI Self-Test Kits At The Advice Centre

Following the huge demand for STI self-test kits, we are really happy to inform you that we have finally received more from the NHS!

You can now find them completely for free among the other freebies in the SU Advice Centre waiting room, where we also have free condoms, sanitary products and personal attack alarms for you.

Your wellbeing, including your health, is extremely important to us, and we know that not everyone has had the most in-depth sexual health advice and guidance while at school or at home. We are here to make sure you have the support you need and the right access to services that will help you stay healthy and safe.

What can I get help with?

Among a lot of different services at the Advice Centre, you will be able to get the help you need in the following:

  • How to stay sexually healthy
  • Where to go to get tested

What is the kit?

The free kit at the SU Advice Centre tests for Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea. It contains a freepost postage bag to send off for testing, so you do not return it back to us.

What if I want to check for more?

If you want a more comprehensive home testing kit you can order one here.

This full kit will test for Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea, HIV and Syphilis. It will arrive at your house in discreet packaging and again, you then send this off to be tested. Please be aware that this test involves a finger prick necessary for HIV and Syphilis testing.

How do I get help?

If you’d like us to help you out, feel free to drop us an email at advice@su.rhul.ac.uk with any questions you have, or simply to request an appointment.

You can also come directly to the Union Helpdesk on the first floor of the Students’ Union or call 01784 276700 and ask for an appointment with the Advice Centre.
