The Big Recap
From the excitement of Freshers' Week to the end of term, we've been hard at work to make sure your voices are heard, and your experience is the best it can be. Here's a quick round up of what we've been working on and what we've achieved for you this term.
Community Cupboards
During the 2025 Leadership Elections, Priority 8 replaced Officer manifestos and students ranked 20 issues impacting them to decide the final Priority 8. Your Sabbs have been working hard on their priorities to make student life better for you. In particular, as part of 'More Financial Support for Students' President Olivia Davies launched Community Cupboards. These are pantry style cupboards filled with non-perishable food and household goods stocked by RHSU, SU Shop and the University that student have free and unlimited access to.
These Community Cupboards can be found at:
Parking
We also have some exciting updates on the Priority 8 to 'Improve Parking on the Egham Campus'. In addition to students with permits officially being able to park on all the car parks on the Egham Campus, there will be a Royal Holloway Park and Ride for permit holders. Starting on 1 December, this will introduce 80 more spaces and will run from Huntersdale car park and will be completely free. You will also be able to claim a free hot drink for every three return journeys.
Campaigns
Supported by the Sabbs, Community Officers, School Reps and Student Groups, this term, we ran 10 campaigns! We've had a variety of awareness campaigns, with some spanning entire months (Black History Month, Disability History Month, MENtion It!) to week long ones including Campus Unity Week, Wobble Week, Speak Week, Skills Week and Financial Support Week! We also had some amazing student-led campaigns such as Trans Awareness Week and Estranged Student Solidarity Week!
There’s always opportunity for student-led campaigning, whether you want to raise awareness about a topic or issue, or want to advocate for positive change in the student community, check out the Campaigns Hub, or just drop Student Voice an email!
Break & Vault
The Union Shop had a glow up over the summer break and with it, we launched Break and Vault.
Break brings fresh, great value options to students! Offering daily pastries, breads, sweet treats and hot drinks. Everything is made fresh and perfect for a grab-and-go bite between classes.
Vault is your new home for official Students’ Union merch. You can grab hoodies and apparel, stationery and study essentials all in one place!
Freshers’ Festival
This year we were joined by over 3500 students and held 30+ events in that first week to welcome you to Royal Holloway!
We had 8808 visits across three sites – Founders Square, SU Venue and the Sports Hall.
What’s Next?
And there’s so much more to come! This is just a snapshot of all the amazing things that have happened. We’re excited for everything we have planned, and we can’t wait to see you all getting involved!
