President, Maia Jarvis

This term, I will be consulting with students on future changes to the extenuating circumstances policy, which is one of my key manifesto points! Therefore, I want to hear your thoughts on the proposals, especially PGT, international, disabled, and mature/carer students, so if you belong to those categories or want to be involved in the consultation, please get in touch via email! Working towards another of my manifesto points, in the coming weeks I will be releasing the final SU Security Insight Report.

As well, working with the University, I am involved in the recruitment of the new Senior Vice-Principal for Education and Student Experience as well as the Head of Sustainability. I also want to try and work with the University and library teams to get a pinboard in the library that everyone can use!

VP Societies and Sport, Hannah Hockin

Term Three kicks off with Student Group Elections, which will see our new student group committee members elected to lead their sports club, society, or media group. The Student Opportunities team and I are busy planning student group training for the newly elected committee members throughout Term Three so that your committee members are ready to hit the ground running in September. I was super excited to deliver the Legacy & Handovers development session which focused on how outgoing committee members can keep their group's momentum going into the new year through a good handover.

Of course, I will be sure to dedicate plenty of time this term to my manifesto goals. One goal I am concentrating on is ensuring the Students’ Union regularly recognises students for all the hard work they put in. While I will be chairing my last Societies, Sports and Opportunities (SSO) Executive as VP Societies and Sport, I will be attending my first Education Executive and Wellbeing, Community & Diversity Executive which I am really excited for.
