There Ain’t No Party Like An S Club Party

I never had a dream come true, until the day that I saw S Club at Summer Ball - yes, this is really happening!

Headlining the Big Top at this year’s Summer Ball are Jo O’Meara, Bradley McIntosh and Tina Barrett – better known as S Club 3.

Formerly S Club 7, the band rose to fame in television series Miami 7, before going on to record four UK number-one singles, one chart-topping album and a string of hits including Bring It All Back, Reach and Don’t Stop Movin’. They recorded four studio albums, released 11 singles and went on to sell over 10 million albums worldwide.

S Club 3

Now a trio, the mini-band perform a variation of the greatest hits at venues across the UK. Originally consisting of former S Club 7 members Jo, Bradley and Paul Cattermole, Tina was added to the troupe in 2014 and a variation of members went on to make appearances at events. Following the S Club reunion, Paul stopped performing with the band and to date Jo, Bradley, and Tina continue to tour.

In 2017, S Club 3 released their first single as a three-piece - the track Family was independently released and is performed during the band’s live sets. The song sees the band reunited with famed writer Simon Ellis.

Petty Nonsense

The fierce and ferocious lip-syncing diva of Royal Holloway is back back back again! Petty Nonsense is no stranger to our campus, headlining two Rainbow Rave shows and the very first Glitterbomb at the SU. Expect fabulousness by the buckets with her high energy performance that will have you dancing like nobody is watching.

#Mashtag26 are a bespoke mash up fusion act based in the UK, consisting of DJ Mark Butler and guitar player Tim Scott. The pair create an eccentric combination of high energy dance anthems fused with live guitar, to create a unique and spectacular show. In case you’re wondering, the ‘26’ represents the minimum number of multi-genre tracks you can expect to be fused within their set.

Old Dirty Brasstards

Due to their popularity at previous events, we’ve decided to give Old Dirty Brasstards a second set at Summer Ball, having already announced them as one of our Festival Stage acts.

The ten-piece band have been dishing out their brassy tunes since 2012, and thrilled the Founder's crowd in 2016 and 2017 with their unique recipe of tweed-clad drum ‘n’ brass.

Make sure you check them out – you won’t be disappointed.

DJ Marky B

Everyone’s favourite Toast DJ is ready to take Summer Ball by storm!

Making his name in the clubs of London, Marky B has played alongside some of the biggest names in the industry including ATB, Darude, DJ EZ and Judge Jules to name just a few.

Nicknamed the ‘King of Transition’, it really is a sight to see this master of mixing ply his trade on the decks.

For this year’s Summer Ball, we’re expanding into Founder’s Square with Red Bull’s Deck87 playing host to some of our favourite DJs and bands.

The eye-catching pop-up bar, which featured at Freshers’ Festival, is festooned with swish and comfortable seating areas, more like something you'd expect from a VIP area at a summer music festival.

The Deck87 line-up includes Lesedi, The Young, DJ Cyclone, Badger Smaker, DJ CEE B and DJ Milz.
