Booking the Union Bus.

The Students’ Union minibuses are available for hire by society and sports clubs for their events. When booking transport for a club or society, it is essential you read all the information below. Due to the high demand for booking, these will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Due to the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, the Union Bus service is currently not in operation and cannot be booked until further notice.

Information Required

Before making your booking, make sure you are prepared with the following information:

  • How long the vehicle is required (all Union Buses must be returned by 21:00 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays)
  • Name of club/society (where relevant the team name to avoid confusion)
  • Destination
  • Name of authorised driver 
  • Contact details

Check if a Union Bus is available

You can check out the calendars of the Union Bus here to see if one is available for your trip. If not, email the Helpdesk and we can arrange for you to book with an external company we work closely with.

Booking Form

You will receive an email from the SU Helpdesk confirming your booking and providing more detail on driving the bus. 

If you require a Union Bus driver then please indicate this on your booking form. 

Please be aware that all Union Bus bookings must be made at least one week in advance of the required date. The only exception to this is for any Wednesday fixtures where bookings need to be made my midday on the Friday before. Any bookings made outside of these time frames may have to be made with Kendall or may not be accommodated.

About Your Booking

Costing

Union Bus Hire Charges: £12 per hour, £40 per half day, £55 per full day, 30p per mile

Kendall Hire Charges: £12.50 delivery, £12.50 collection, £51 per full day

 

Cancellations

All Union Bus cancellations need to be communicated to the SU Helpdesk on 01784 276700 or via email at least 24 hours before the booking is due to commence. We understand there will be occasions outside of your control (i.e. poor weather, cancellation by opposing team) where you will not be able to provide us with 24 hours’ notice of cancellation. In these circumstances your club or society will only be charged the cost of two hours hire (£24). When we are not notified of a cancellation, your group will be charged at the full hire cost.
