24 - 28 November 2025
Welcome to our first celebration of Estranged Students Solidarity Week! Estranged Students Solidarity Week (ESSW) is a week-long awareness campaign beginning on Monday 24 November 2025.
This is a student-led campaign led by Nathaniel King, a student with a lived experience to this community. Nathaniel has been engaging in informative and important conversations with Royal Holloway Students’ Union to bring further awareness to the Estranged Student and Care Experienced community as well as opening conversations that explore ways the SU can support Estranged and Care Experienced Students.
Throughout the Estranged Students Solidarity Week there will be a wide range of events that explore what it's like being an Estranged Student but will further spotlight what support is available for Estranged Students via informative events and drop ins from various support teams. The SU Instagram will also be posting engaging content for you to better understand what being an Estranged Student means as well as how you can get involved with events. We are also collaborating with teams at the university to showcase wider support.
Beyond Estranged Students Solidarity Week, we are hosting a winter social for Care Exercise and Estranged Students. Everyone is welcome whether you come alone or bring a friend, you’ll be met with warmth and a variety of Christmas crafts to create. You can check out more information about the event here.
We can’t wait to celebrate with the whole campus community to bring awareness about living estranged as well as what support is available for Estranged Students to support their time at university.
