February 2026
Welcome to LGBT+ History Month 2026!
This year we aim to celebrate, support, and highlight the contributions of current students at Royal Holloway, while also educating others about the diverse achievements of the LGBTQ+ community throughout history. This aligns with the theme for 2026, which is Science and Innovation!
This month is led by RHSU’s LGBT+ Students Community Officer Jakob Bird and the LGBT+ Society, with support from a multitude of wonderful societies on campus!
During this history month, we encourage societies and sports clubs to acknowledge the work of queer individuals in their respective fields and to foster inclusive environments within their communities.
There are many collaborative events planned such as (but not limited to) a zine making with Art Society, a trip to Gays The Word Bookshop with Readers Society, and of course a Clothes Swap with Fashion Society - as well as many social events with LGBT+ Society’s representative committee members to meet people and make connections with others with similar experiences!
Don't miss the 2026 Queer Creativity Showcase, our 4th annual event! It will take place on Monday, February 16th, from 6 PM to 8 PM in the SU Hall. The event is free, so come out and support the incredible LGBTQ+ creators on campus!
Signups for the showcase and more information on all upcoming events will be posted on the LGBT+ Students Community Officer’s Instagram (@rhsu_lgbt_community).
