LGBTQ+ History Month

February 2018

LGBT+ issues have become something of a focal point in the media in recent years. From same gender marriage to bathroom bills, these issues have become an inherently political and cultural matter. This month we'll be taking the chance to acknowledge the past and present of the LGBT+ community. Through a series of cultural and educational events, we hope that regardless of your sexuality or gender identity you will join us for a month of remembering and celebrating.


You're Ace, Dude

What is asexuality? Join the LGBT+ Society and VP Welfare & Diversity in a candid discussion about being ace/aro, and how that influence sex and relationships.
LGBT+ Valentines Ball
13th February 7pm - midnight
Bush House, King's College London
RHUL LGBT+ Society is co-hosting the first annual LGBT+ Valentines Ball with other LGBT+ network across institutions.
Real Talk: Being Trans On Campus
15th February 7pm - 8pm
Join our trans students in an honest discussion about the experiences of transitioning at university, including the college’s policy on name changes and whether the healthcare services on campus are trans-friendly.
Meet The Filmmakers: LGBT+ In Film
20th February 6pm - 8pm
Come join the LGBT+ Society for a chat with LGBT+ filmmakers about their personal experiences of producing film!
LGBTQ+ Film Screening: Milk
21st February 7pm - 9:30pm
Join us on Wednesday night as PIRSoc host the film viewing of Oscar-award winning film, Milk.
The History Of Pride
26th February 6pm - 8pm
Join LGBTQ+ History Talk in a crash course session on the history of being LGBTQ+!
