Mandatory Consent Training for All Students

The university should offer a mandatory consent training course, either on moodle or through lectures/seminars. This course should cover topics such as enthusiastic consent, what is defined as sexual assault/harassment/rape, how to defend oneself in a dangerous situation, and the laws and processes surrounding sexual assault, harassment, and rape. It should not be gender-biased - anyone can be a victim as much as anyone can be a perpetrator. It should also cover where students can go for counselling after an incident and what is available to students and the wider population in the case of an assault (i.e. hotlines, counselling services etc.) The university should also provide clearer instruction on where students should go to report assault. It should not lead students on a trail all over campus. For example, a friend of mine had to go through her personal tutor, the SU helpdesk, and the health centre before she found the wellbeing office. None of the information could be found on the university website. As it appears to be a prominent problem throughout the university, it should be easier to find out where to go to report it.
