Label the Allergens in The Hub and Founder's Dining Hall

    Expired
    • University Idea
The labelling of food served in the Hub and Founder's Dining is currently inconsistent. Sometimes in Founder's dining hall for example, the allergens are labelled at the salad bar on the glass, however at The Hub, no allergens will be labelled at all, and the salads are often not even named. On the pre-printed laminated signs they have for the food, the allergens should be listed underneath the description of the food. This would make it easy for students to identify what they can eat, without having to ask the staff (who then have to find and consult the chef) each time, and would provide labelling consistency for the two main catering outlets on campus. These signs could also be reused because of the set menus, and obviously could be updated as and when required. It is standard today at a restaurant or cafe for allergens to be clearly labelled. Royal Holloway is currently incredibly behind the times, and clear labelling is needed for student safety.
