Campaign Hub

Nobody understands the issues facing students today more than you! Whether it's housing, academic experience, welfare, cost of living – we believe students should have the opportunity to voice their opinions and make significant changes to the lives of students at Royal Holloway. We're here to help! Check out our campaign hub to find out how you can run your own campaign.

What is a campaign?

A campaign is an organised effort to raise awareness and highlight an issue in society, working towards achieving positive change. It mobilises people and power to influence law, policy, practice, or behaviour.

  • Awareness Campaign – Focused on educating others on a topic, using events, blogs, or social media (e.g., Drug & Alcohol Awareness Week, Skills Week, SHAG Week).
  • Lobbying Campaign – Focused on influencing decision-makers through letters, proposals, meetings, or petitions (e.g., campaigns for more gender-neutral toilets or women's-only gym hours).

How do I run a campaign?

Follow our step-by-step process to get your campaign off the ground:

  1. Check out the Campaign Toolkit and resources to learn what makes a successful campaign.
  2. Complete the Campaign Proposal Form and send it to the Student Voice team.
  3. We'll review it to ensure it fits our SU Values and doesn't duplicate an existing campaign. We'll then arrange a meeting with you.
  4. Once approved, it's campaign time!
