This Disability History Month, we are focusing on Disability, Children and Youth. Growing up with a disability, for many, is a challenging, isolating and often confusing experience. This theme aims to highlight childhood inequalities and advocate for better disability education, rights and inclusivity.
As your Disabled Students Community Officer, I want to use this month to champion student voice and encourage everyone to share our stories in celebration of our strength and perseverance. Alongside the SU, we have created a fantastic line-up of events and engagement opportunities to get our community and the wider student population involved in discussing disability and learning how we can all take a stance to stand up against disability discrimination.
I am looking forward to taking part in a campaign that prioritises shameless advocacy and an uncompromising commitment to fairness - values I hope to carry forward in my own campaigns.

There’s a range of opportunities and activities to get involved with over the month. We'll be collaborating with our incredible student groups as well as taking to the stage for the return of the much anticipated Disability Looks Like Me Fashion Show. No matter how you celebrate it’s bound to be an enjoyable time, and I’m looking forward to celebrating the month with all students across campus.
