Doctoral School Open Meeting

Postgraduate students! Come down to the Shilling Building at 9am on Tuesday 28 May to hear from the College on the plans for the Doctoral School within the context of the academic restructure.

As you have been made aware throughout this academic year, the College is conducting an academic restructuring. This has predominately involved changing from a Faculty structure, to a School structure – essentially meaning that the Departments will sit under six Schools, rather than three Faculties.

The restructure is also involving the development of the Doctoral School. Following on from an earlier focus group, this open meeting is your opportunity to hear from the College on the Doctoral School plans and how these will impact you as a student. There will be a short presentation delivered by Deputy Principal (Academic), Professor Katie Normington and Dean of the Doctoral School, Professor Rosemary Deem, which will be followed by an opportunity to ask questions about the new system.

Facilitated by the Students' Union's Vice President Education Jack O'Neill, all Postgraduate students are invited, with tea and coffee being provided as a thank you for coming down! If you are not able to attend but are interested in what is being discussed, then please let Jack know and he can represent your views or pass on any questions on your behalf. You can contact him via email at vpeducation@su.rhul.ac.uk
