A fresh take on Freshers' Fair!

Freshers' Fair showcased all of our amazing student groups you can join on campus; from getting on your dancing shoes, learning a new language, engaging with student activism or representing Royal Holloway on our very own Nobles field.

3087 students, so roughly a third of the student population, turned out in force to sign up, try something new or get involved with our 137 societies, sports clubs or media outlets. With over 6500 clicked attendances over the two days, the event was bustling with new and returning students trying to find out more and even grab some freebies.

Thank you to over a thousand of you who took part in our immediate satisfaction survey, rating the event with 95% satisfaction! With over 300 comments noting the great range of groups and the informative friendly nature of all students involved! We also have some feedback to take into event planning next year including; working on the heat of the space and the Wi-Fi capacities.

So what’s next?

Over the next few weeks, all of our groups will be hosting taster sessions or open training, to give you the chance to try out their activity without any commitment or sign ups! You can find the full society taster session timetable on our Facebook event or check out the different sports club's social media pages to find out when you can turn up to their open training sessions.

Didn’t find an activity you were looking for? Then you can start your own! We’ve already had six new group ideas expressed at the fair and one new society already ratified this year. It’s really easy and accessible to get involved, just have a look on the website and send the team a short proposal why you want to set up your group!
