Welcome to my (first!) blog! I feel like I’m definitely not cool or edgy enough to have a blog, as much as I dream about having an indie Instagram alongside a popular blog, with a monochrome design scheme with a touch of mahogany wood/autumn dreams kinda’ vibe. But alas here I am, uncool, but giving it my best shot!

Second term is always an absolutely manic eleven weeks and for our Creative Arts Societies, this year is no exception! Between charity events, guest speakers, performances, fundraisers, Societies Ball and committee elections to name but a few, students have been pulling out all the stops to get the best and most valuable events for their members! So if you’ve yet to get involved but feel like you want to, there are still so many opportunities so throw yourself in!

SPOTLIGHT

My spotlight for this blog is going to be Reel Music for their ‘Bold in Blue’ project. Members are wearing something blue every day during the month of February to raise money for the National Autistic Society and they are looking fab from the photos that have been posted so far! Well done Reel Music!!

If you would like to donate head over to their dedicated page. Similarly, if you would like to get involved, please contact Reel Music via their Facebook page.

What's coming up?

A Merry Walk to Windsor

Shakespeare Society would like to invite everyone to 'A Merry Walk to Windsor', walking from Egham (meeting outside Founder's Main Gate at 1pm on 18 February) to the end of Windsor Great Park. The society will be raising money for the charity Dramatize. You can meet the committee at Founder's Main Gate or even feel free to join in at some point along their adventurous journey!

Getting in Touch

As much I as wish I could list everything on here, I’d be surprised if people have lasted reading it to the end (shout out to those who have got this far). Check out individual society facebook pages, or the SU website for waaaay more events! If you have an event you would like to organise in relation to our Creative Arts Societies, or would like more information on how to get involved and who to talk to, get in touch through studentopportunities@su.rhul.ac.uk and I will get back to you as soon as possible!

I hope you’ve had a great reading week (sorry to those who didn’t have a reading week – I’m looking at you, Music Department), and enjoy the rest of the term! My next blog will be released 4 March (SOCS BALL YAY)!
