Rapid Reconfiguation

After several months of hard work we’re delighted to announce that the reconfigured Students’ Union is now open for business. Central to the new layout is our one-stop shop Union Helpdesk, while we’ve increased seating throughout the building with a new lounge area with plenty of power for charging all your devices.

After several months of hard work we’re delighted to announce that the reconfigured Students’ Union is now open for business. Central to the new layout is our one-stop shop Union Helpdesk, while we’ve increased seating throughout the building with a new lounge area with plenty of power for charging all your devices.

Officially opening the Union Helpdesk were former SU Vice President and current Vice Chair of College Council, Ian Ross, alongside current Students’ Union President, Education and Campaigns, Natasha Barrett. She said of the changes: “Our helpdesk is not just a part of a refurbishment, but represents a reconfiguration that will show students the SU is there to support them.

“We previously had around four different student/staff interaction points in the building and students would be bounced around between these points, looking for assistance and quite often become frustrated.

“The service experienced by students will be vastly improved in the coming year, as we begin to use our space in the optimum way, and the feedback has already been incredibly positive.”

Alongside the physical changes, the Union building has undergone a makeover as part of the ongoing rebrand of the organisation. Over the coming months this will be rolled out to all areas of our work with a new website set to be launched in the near future.
