Candidate for President
Hi! My name is Yasmine. I am a third year student. I’ve been through a lot of the ups and downs of student life allowing for me to have a wide breadth of experiences. This has pushed me to run for President of the Students Union so I can have a hand in making student life the best it can be. As a candidate for the position of President of the Students Union, I hereby present my manifesto with a strong focus on student welfare, security, and health.
Student welfare: I will prioritize the welfare of all students, ensuring that they are provided with an inclusive, diverse, and supportive environment. I will work to create policies that guarantee equal access to all students, regardless of their background, ethnicity, or orientation.
Health: I will advocate for the overall health of our students, both physical and mental. It is a vital part of your well-being. I will work to improve the medical facilities and create programs and support groups that address mental health concerns. I will also work to provide resources and support in regard to sexual health.
Security: I will work closely with campus security to ensure that our campuses are safe and secure. As well as working towards providing a safer night out at the Student Union venues. I will work to modernize our security systems and ensure that they are efficient, effective and just.
You are the priority: I am determined to always put the students first. My goal is to provide a regular anonymous survey where each student can put forward their thoughts and opinions on their current experiences with the Students Union, to aid in the decision-making process.
I am passionate about representing the student community and creating positive change to our University. I am committed to implementing policies and programs that will improve the welfare, security, and health of all students, amongst other things. As the President of the Students Union, I will work tirelessly to ensure that our students have the best experience possible.
