BUCS Round-Up 12/02/2020

VP Sport Dom Brown is back with your weekly dose of BUCS fixtures! This week, he is celebrating the achievements of all our fantastic women in sport, so get ready for a full round-up on their great successes.

As storm Ciara dwindled away, we had another set of fixtures to contend with. Firstly, a quick good luck to Cheerleading who are heading to their first competition of the year over the weekend!

This week I’m celebrating all our strong women, so get ready for a full round-up on their incredible achievements this week!

Women’s Rugby 1st Team hosted St Mary’s this Wednesday with a point to prove over a difficult opposition. They secured a 17-12 win on the 3G pitches, which led to some great celebrations before Come in Your Kit! Well done team.

Women’s Lacrosse 2nd Team pinched their first Victory of the season against a strong Kent side. The girls took a decent lead before Kent began fighting back. In the end, the Bears came out of clutch and won by 11 goals to 10. A massive boost for the 2nd Team going to final stages of the season!

Women’s Fencing 1st Team continue their unbeaten streak in 1A and maintain their lead at the top of the table by beating their UCL counterparts away from home. The girls fenced excellently to bring back a 135-104 victory!

Finally, a massive well done to both Riding teams that competed this weekend. B team placed third in their home competition, so well done to all the riders. Meanwhile, C team put in a strong performance to place 2nd in their competition. I’m sure there were apt celebrations to follow.

Congratulations to everyone competing!
