Get Ready To Give It A Go

You've seen our Freshers' Festival events programme, and now it's time for Give It A Go to have the limelight as we bring you a wide array of events and activities to get involved with throughout the year.

We've got everything from language classes and Crafternoons to cocktail making and an underground caves tour. With more than 40 events in total including those during Freshers' Festival, it's safe to say you'll find something that takes your fancy!

What is Give It A Go?

While club nights are popular with a number of students, we want our events programme to be accessible to everyone. So every year we run hundreds of smaller scale events that aren't based around alcohol and getting drunk. Give It A Go offers something for everyone, no matter whether you're an adrenaline junkie, culture vulture, sports fanatic or just love trying new things! Even better, many of the events are completely free to attend!

First year students living in halls will find a handy little events programme inside their SU goody bag on arrival, but you can check out all of the events below.

How do I get involved?

Some events, such as our day trips to Warwick Castle and Hampton Court Palace, require you to purchase tickets in advance but for the majority of them you can simply show up on the day. Simply bring your College Card along with you so we can scan you in, and then you're good to go.

Our first event of the year is our Treasure Trails on Wednesday 25 September, designed to help you around campus, meet new people and potentially win some amazing prizes! You may have seen some other events advertised in our Freshers' Festival line-up, including Union Fest ft. Petting Zoo, Colour Run and our Slumber Party & Movie Night. These are all part of the Give It A Go Programme and will give you a good flavour of what it's all about!
