We're giving student groups the opportunity to get featured in our venue nights and organise their own events, and VP Societies and Media Sophia Bolton tells you how to get involved!
SU takeovers for student groups have always been a little bit tricky to organise, so we’re very excited to announce that we’ve revamped the entire process!
This has been done with the aim of providing an opportunity to even more student groups for a chance to be featured on our nights out, to showcase what you do best in a high volume environment – we’ll even give you up to £200 towards it!
We’ve made this change as a result of feedback from you, especially from some of our smaller groups who struggle to organise larger scale events of their own, yet want to be exposed. We’ve also been fed back by the regular SU goer who values consistency across our regular club night brands.
From now on, we’ll be moving away from the confusing term ‘takeover’, bringing in the wonderful ‘feature’ nights. This means you can pick any of our regular SU Wednesday or Friday nights in the calendar and put on your own quirky, fun and exciting activity either in Tommy’s Lounge or the Union Plaza.
For example, Fashion Society will be featuring next week’s Toast as they invite you to get creative and wear anything but clothes! Another feature that we’ll be doing this term will be a Frat Party at Toast by American Football and Cheer.
What all of this means is that you get to organise your own small scale activity, which has guaranteed high footfall. There is little to no financial risk involved and there is consistency across the board for everyone!
If you’re looking to get involved and be featured on one of our nights pop an email over to firstname.lastname@example.org or submit this form and we’ll get the ball rolling.
Happy partying pals!
